Some body stole my mail( money order). Can they cash the money order. Please answer I'm out of my mind.?

Sorry for the misunderstood. The money order that some body sent to me. She paid me by money order. She sent throught the mail but i didn't received it. I did contact her but we don;t know any way we can find out who cash that money order or any ways we can get the money back.Thank you so much for your answers

Is this a money order you have sent to someone else which has gone missing? If so, you are out of luck unless you insured the delivery with the USPS. It only costs a dollar or two most times and is well worth the extra expense if the money order is valuable enough.

No, unless the money order was blank or made out to cash. Should it have your name on it, there should be no way anyone other then you can cash it. Contact the sender and ask him to stop payment on it. Yes, you can stop payment on a money order. They'll issue another one right after doing so. I would suggest securing your mail box with a small lock. Should this "missing mail" issue continue, please contact the local authorities. Messing with the mail is a federal offense.

How did you find the name on the money order if it was stolen? If it was written to you, and signed by someone else, then the bank who accepted it is responsible for not checking their I.D.

Unfortunately they can cash it.... unlike checks where a bank could stop payment. Sorry for the bad news.

What you have to do is report the money order was stolen to the institution that you got it from.
