There has been a hole found in the universe. Not a black hole swallowing everything up, not a dense fog... but a HOLE. There are no stars in it, no planets...nothing shining from inside. What if this hole is really a tear? What if beyond that hole is nothing? What if we aren't really here?

I have been thinking about this, and realized that if no one knows you or remembers you, technically you aren't here anymore! You are non existant. I think we believe we are here, as individuals, because people know us. They recognize us and remember us...Even if we don't want to be here, we are going to, because we have a network...

What do you guys think?

I think that if I'm not really here, then why in the hell do I have to work, pay taxes and pay exorbitant prices for things if I don't really exist? Hmm? Tell me! The fact that you can't walk through a wall without smashing your face and hurting yourself should speak volumes.

You are talking about several things. First, that a hole exists does not impact your existence. You obviously exist. If you question your own existence, that's scary. If you think you don't exist walk in front of a truck. Through a wall.

If no one knows you/remembers you that has nothing to do with your existence. Say someone is in that situation (and I can't imagine how). If that person gets a gun and starts shooting, do you want to be there taking a bullet?

Whether or not you exist is dependent upon others acknowledging you? That's really shallow.

If a "hole" can be defined as certain delimited spatial area devoid of content, what would you call the space between the Earth and its moon?

The fact that you are there to post this question and I am here to answer your question, proves that you are "here" wherever "here" to you may be, and that I am "here" where I am. If we were to be in the world of "nothing", then this discussion would be moot as we would not be able to hold this discussion as we would neither be here or there. Since we are having this dicussion, we are in the realm of the conscious validating our ability to discuss and therefore, our curious existance.

Dear, thinking about things like that only makes your head hurt.
I mean if you analyze everything too deeply, you will surely be disappointed when you come to a conclusion because it won't be able to really explain anything. Does that make sense?

That is a very confusing topic, why wouldn't we be here?
