car died after 150 mi. in heat using air cond. and a new battery 2 weeks ago. voltage lite came on. help?

Your original battery died because the alternator was bad and the new battery was just good enough to keep the car running for 150 miles.

Well at least the battery works. How did it die? Sudden spit and sputter.

your alternator is shot, replace it.
