surely it should be called a teethbrush????

Maybe hygiene was so bad backi n the day people only had one tooth to brush!

Same reason a hairbrush is called a hairbrush when most people brush several hairs.

It's to be politically correct. There may be a person out there with only one tooth, same as there may be a person out there with a single hair.

We wouldn't want them to feel excluded or get their feelings hurt. Hence, it's a brush for everyone with at least one tooth or strand of hair. People with no teeth or hair at all would not need the product so that would be irrelevant.

Although a headcrown smoother and gum wiper may not be too far behind. Any enterprenuers out there?

omg thats so weird. I've been calling it that since I was 5!!!! I realized how idiotic it sounded by the time it was 7 but I still continued calling it that!!!! I'm now 13 and I get weird looks at hotels when I say, Oh, crap! Did I forget my teethbrush?!?!?!

because back when it was invented ppl didnt have that many teeth and brushed the 3-5 teeth they had 1 at a time

because at the time, the guy who invented the toothbrush hadn't been able to brush his teeth before the invention, so all he had left was one tooth to brush ( they had all rotted out), thus, the tooth brush.

..umm.but, what if you only have 1 tooth..lol...i actually answered this question to let u know that your sign in name brought back memories...as a child (many yrs. ago) we had a neighbor whose name was charley riley..but as a small kids we couldn`t say it right and forever more he was known (even today) as charley warlie!!! thanx for the memory.
