I have a Tecra 8200 from Toshiba. It's been a pretty good laptop since I have had it. Almost had it a year and a half. About 7 months into ownership, I noticed that the monitor starts to flicker and then become dim. This happens when I run it from the battery or plugged in. I can close the top and re-open it and everything will be bright again for about 30 to 45 minutes then it goes dim again. If I turn it off and let it set (or gently tap the side of the computer top) the screen will brighten back up like no problems. Any idea what's causing this? If the monitor goes out, can you replace them? Need serious answers. Thanks

Sounds like a loose connection. If you can figure out how to open the frame of the monitor, you can look in there for a loose connector. As far as replacement, the price is beyond reason. It is actually about the same price to buy a new computer.

At 7 months it should have still been in warranty. If the warranty has lapsed, you're out of luck. One problem with Toshiba laptops is that replacing the screen usually costs more than the computer is worth. It could just be a bad flex cable between the screen and the computer.

That would be the change in wattage from a wall outlet to battery.

Power saving mode will turn on and off when plugged in diffrently =)

the only airline I even have been on that has skill ports in coach domestically is AA - and then in basic terms at some rows. in spite of the indisputable fact that, their provider sucks so undesirable, that i could want to take one extra battery and use a diverse airline.
