My pc is running through a power strip it's not a surge strip just a power strip?

They're calling for thunder storms where i live,could that desroy my pc being it's not a surge powerstip?Should i shut down.

Not only shut it down but unplug it. If you run dial-up unplug the phone line from your modem also.

Surge power strips aren't all that much protection anyhow. Unless you have a UPS you should disconnect everything.

also if you have cable modem unhook it
