The traditional boundary between Europe and Asia are the Ural Mountains. So Russia west of the Urals would be Europe and the east would be in Asia.

As previous users have said, Russia has a vast territory that covers both Asia and Europe. The dividing point is the Ural Mountains.
As far as whether Russians themselves are Asian, it wouldn't matter what side of the Ural Mountains an ethnic Russian is born in, East Slavs are an Indo-European people.
There are people who live in Russia who are not Slavic, however, such as the Yakuts.

The first 4 answers are all correct. The distinction between Europe and Asia is not a geographical one. It's based on Europe's diversity of human cultures. The Ural mountains are usually considered the boundary, but they're a pretty unimpressive mountain range. They only stand out because they're surrounded by a very large plain.

Russia as a state is covering big parts of Europe and Asia, and the European part of that big country is always called Russia. But for the Asian part of the Russian state the name Siberia is very common.

Russia and Turkey are in Eurasia. Egypt is the only country in two continents.
please see eurasia [wikipedia]âº"Europeans, unaware of the extent of Eurasia, traditionally considered Europe and Asia to be separate continents, with the dividing line placed along the Aegean Sea, Dardanelles, Sea of Marmara, Bosporus, Black Sea, Caucasus Mountains, Caspian Sea, Ural River, and Ural Mountains, and this terminology has spread to the rest of the world, even though Asia contains multiple regions and cultures as large and populous as Europe, and as different and geographically separated from each other as they are from Europe. From a modern perspective, the continent with the least reason for separate recognition is Europe, and in scientific circles people generally prefer to subsume Europe and Asia into Eurasia"

Both. The Ural Mountains determine the continental border; the European portion is west of the Urals.
