Or should I have Raul shift into park.

I want the car to stop, but I am concerned if the air bags will deploy. I don't want to have to replace them.

I rode it in reverse last night and you came just as fast.

Have Raul practice shifting in the park, then go out on the highway. Shifting into reverse at a high speed should be no problem as long as you have the seats fasten to the dash with bungee cords.

They actually just did this on mythbusters last week, your car will shut off if you put it into reverse when you are traveling forward. It won't engage the gear. Don't shift into park either it will shear the pin in the trans and keep rolling. you can try the Emergency brake which will apply more brake to the rear wheels but could lock them up

No, it wont.
First of all, once you get the tires to break traction (from them spinning in reverse)you lose stopping and steering ability.
Secondly, if your car has ABS, your car will not stop any quicker than with that. If it does not have ABS then you threshold brake, giving enough brake to slow down without locking the brakes up.
Third, are you really that dumb to believe a transmission will hold up shifting into reverse at 80MPH?

I'm pretty sure you will coast a while before stopping because your transmission will be left on the road where your driver shifted at 60 miles per hour... By the weaqy could you get that on video for me please? I think that would look way kewl! Your car? lol

the only way it is possible to do what you want is to buy your self a yellow van with square wheels with a bed in the back.
put a straight jacket on, you can get the men in white coats to help you if you want.
then when you slam into reverse make sure you are heading to the second star on the right and go straight on till morning.
make sure you say hi to peter pan and captin hook.
i hope this helps

Just disconnect the airbags and no worries....about the stopping, shift into reverse, pause, then shift to park while setting the parking brake at the same time for best results.

On the Dukes of Hazzard Charger there is a parking brake pedal on the floor that you press down with your left foot and to release it you pull a lever with your left hand, they disconnected the lever so that the pedal automatically releases when you let off with your foot. They did this so the driver could slam on both brake pedals and do a 180.

it would be much faster just to locate the nearest concrete block wall or other large and immovable structure, aim the car directly at it, and don't even bother with the brakes or the shifter -- trust me mate, your car will stop. and this way you may not even need to worry about whether your air bags will deploy. if you are in need of more information on this subject i suggest contacting diana spencer.

You might have to replace the whole friggen' car but, at least you'd be able to save the air bags. And duo air bags doesn't refer to your wife in one seat and your mother-in-law in the other, contrary to popular belief!

I wonder how many people thought this was a serious question? It's a great question though, rock on My Man! Have Raul drive it like he stole it!
