Hi, I was talking with my fiance and I said I didn't want to buy us a bed untill we could afford a REALLY expensive nice bed.

I was kinda puzzled because I don't mind if other things aren't as expensive such as TVs, cars, stoves, you know---stuff where the quality and price doesn't REALLY matter.

I know that where you lable your priorities shows alot about the personality of the person, so I figured wanting an expensive bed as a top priority means something about me psychologically... I think it would be an interesting thing to take note, so anyone got any suggestions?

Ok... in response to some of them.. it is the frame that is so important. I want one that will withstand the test of time and won't be a peice of crap.

...and usually i don't care about expensive things so i agree with the person that said i should learn to "live without"... and i am not like his mom because i know that. The reason I question it is because it IS so odd that i care because usually I don't. LOL

I think you are confusing good quality with "Really expensive". You can get a very nice bed without paying through the nose for it. The main thing is if it is well made and a style you like. The box springs and mattress are the important part. Comfort and durability count---and that doesn't always mean "Really Expensive."

I love comfortable beds.
Spent a lot on my mattress.
If you get a contemporary platform frame,
or a Sleigh Bed with plenty of slats
you don't need to purchase matching boxspring.

If I won the lottery, I'd buy a Dux bed.

The bed is where you sleep. It's far more personal than a TV or a car. I understand the need to have an expensive personal item.

I don't know, you are like my MOM when it comes to these things.

Always wanting the most expensive and fancy stuff out there when your wallet can't afford it.

Live with what you can get, you'll be alot happier that way.

Are you talking about mattress and springs or the frame?
The former is comfort, the latter is taste or fantasy. Are you going to drag people into the bedroom to look at it?
