the problem i have is the pipe connecting to the other pipe is leaking can i put some tape or glue to stop the leak.

Usually you can tighten the connections.
Tape or glue would come off when it gets soaked.
Liquid solder would probably work.

I saw your other post about it being PVC so I assume it is the drain. Without knowing how it is shaped and where the leak it it's hard to say. But drains with disconnected pipes should still drain without leaking unless there is a clog downstream from the leak. If you can disconnect the two pipe and get a drain snake down there you might be able to loosen it. Be real careful if you've put any drain cleaner down there becauseyoucan get badly burn by them if they haven't drained down.

I've had some bad clogs that I couldn't loosen and I've had luck with one of those quick call drain people. There is one here called Mr Rooter. They do the job pretty quickly but it costs about $280.

Tape or Glue probably won't help . So go call a Plumber.

what material is the pipe made of

if it is copper poly(gray plastic)
you can buy a fitting called a shark bit and use it to replace the leaking fitting

It's plumber time.

If that water leaks under your flooring, you will have to replace the floor.

If it is a drain PVC pipe make sure that the nut your tightening is not cracked.
