There are several cleaners available. You should be able to find Brasso at just about any grccery store near . Never dull wadding can be found at any auto parts store I have ever been to but takes a little rubbing. I used to sell a product called Brite Boy in my janitorial supply in Ca. which I thought was the best copper cleaner.

Taco Bell hot sauce will clean copper real well. Try coating an old penny with it let it sit for a few minutes and it is shiny. Actually any kind of vinegar will clean copper pretty well.
