Well, for starters I think your calculation for private school is incorrect. If there are currently 8 kids in school that would mean $3750 per child for the entire school (chose 8 because you appear to the oldest and maybe there is still a toddler in the bunch). I can't imagine an area in the country where you can get a private school education for that per year. Probably $7000 would be the MINIMUM almost everywhere. Having it cost $15000 per child, per year is probably more than average. Also your assessment of living paycheck to paycheck and he is in debt, constantly overdrafting his checking account could be incorrect. Just because he doesn't have money in his pocket does not mean he has no money. He could be deferring a great deal of income, he might be stockpiling his retirement (he would probably be eligible for plans that allow more than the regular $16500 per year), his life insurance premium could be very high (with 9 minor children - assuming you are the oldest, he may have $5M in life insurance), he might be having the money direct deposited to a savings account or other investments.

No - it's NOT child abuse.

You were fed and weren't left to starve or neglected. You weren't beaten or emotionally damaged in any way.

In fact, he did you a favor by not giving in and making you a spoiled child who's going to just EXPECT to get everything in the world to go your way. And on top of that... McDonald's is nasty food... when you have your own money - you can buy all the McDonald's you want & blow yourself up to a fat, out-of-shape blob who can't even walk around the block without running out of breath.

No. If he will not let you have food at all, and you are going to starve to death, that is abuse. If he will let you have food that is adequate to meet your nutritional needs, not letting you have the particular food that you like is not abuse.

A better question is whether letting a child have excessive amounts of McDonald's fast food and become obese (instead of restricting the child to mostly healthy food) is neglect.

Don't believe these people, poor dear. I am a defense attorney. And YES, you are the victim of child abuse and child neglect. I will take your case. I will use the Johnny Cochran defense, and if you're black and you're dad's white, I'll get help from Gloria Alred! Together, we will take down this evil Hitler known as your dad! McDonald's is an American company, and by refusing to give you McDonald's, he is not worthy of being American. He is a terrorist to this nation, to McDonald's, and to you, and together, we will take him down and out. He will be prosecuted and sent to jail. I honestly think we can get the Death Penalty in this case!

Seriously, quit your crying and grow up! There's plenty of McDs for you years from now.

You wouldn't be related to Paris Hilton, by any chance? She left her clothes here and my girlfriend is starting to get suspicious.

Not at all. If he did get you McDonalds and 20 yr. from now you get fat you would sue him for neglecting you as a child.
