Hubby is 4 years older

That would totally depend on the couple. My boyfriend is 11 years older than I am (37-26) and it works for us, the same as your husband being 2 years older than you works for you. There is no better age difference to have between two people. It's how they get along together, if they are happy and of course if they are in love.

Honestly, I think it depends on the couple and how you mesh. For example, I'm in a serious relationship and have been for a little over a year now and he and I are nine years apart. He's the most wonderful person I've ever met. Now if the guys is in his early twenties and she's older, it's not going to work. I know this from experience, I've dated men younger than me and they all just wanted to live the party life =( so as you get older you're going to want to date someone closer in your age range, and who ALSO wants the same things you do, you know? Good luck!!

It really depends. My ex was 9 years older,(pushing 40 when I was still 29) and we never saw eye to eye. I always felt like he was trying to be my dad and he couldnt understand why I didnt have 'older woman' mentality. My husband is 8 months older and its really nice...being the same age-we feel like we are experiencing life together more. It depends on what you are looking for.

The best age distance is measured by like mindedness. If you are 15 years apart but both have the same interests, the same physical abilities, the same values, and the same energy level you are as compatable as a couple who are 1 year apart with like mindedness. If you are the same age but you are energetic, and your partner acts like an old man, then age doesn't really matter does it?

Age matters very little in most relationships. Unless there are huge differences, age usually does not effect the relationship much.

However I think where you are at in life greatly effects the relationship (example: in college, in a career, ready for kids, late in a career, retired, etc.) I think couples should be in the same stage of life or very close.
