Unfortunatly I am going through a divorce and my child support on 2 kids has been calculated to be $1115 a month, plus processing charges that brings the total to $1365 a month. Does anyone know if that it right? By Ohio Law? The messed up thing is that number is based on me making 45 grand a year and my ex making 30 grand a year. seems like I am getting a raw deal. Any advice?

Sounds like it was miscalculated in regards to the child support payment. The fee, called poundage in Ohio,is probably about right, based on that amount. in Ohio it is 2%

The processing fee in OH is 2%. the amount you are paying for child support is right considering your income amount, but that should have no weight on the fee they charge you. You need to calculate how many months this has been going on for, add it all up and demand your balance back. You're getting screwed.

Last time I paid Child Support in Ohio, the fee was 2%. Check with the Child Support bureau on this figure and ask why it is so high. They will give you the info.

Ohio state law requires a 2% processing fee (ripoff, IMO) - on $1115, that should be $22.30, not $250.

no, i've never heard of that before. you don't have to pay processing fees on top of child support.

check online under social welfare for Ohio to research laws stating what should occur for child support....good luck for your case

Who's charging u this fee? Your lawyer. See the court about this.

I've never heard of that. If it's not a clerical or computer error, then you should talk to the court or your lawyer about that.
