How do I find out if the Stage Name I want to use is availible for use?

I am planning on using a stage name for acting. I am NOT using my real name, so please do not even bring that up :-). How do I find out which names I can and can't use? I know there can only be one person with a certain name who is with SAG. Is there a site I can go to to find out?? I tried looking on SAG website, but I couldnt figure it out. Was I not looking in the right place?? Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

I just looked up the name I wanted, and the spelling I wanted to use is NOT in use, but there is another spelling of it. The name alreday in use is: Madison Lewis. The name I WANT to use is Madisyn Lewis. Can I still do it??

I believe the Movie Data Base has that info just search IMDb and type your name in the actor search box. If there is no one it will come back that way and your name is useable.
