You could buy an island and declare indepandence. If the island is capable of self-sufficiency, you may have to worry about some other country invading. As an independent county, you would have to provide your own national defense.

i think you need to start out small and work up to your goal. How about buying a couple of square yards from a farmer. Could be from the corner of one of his fields. check out how it feels to be the absolute ruler of this for a couple of months then move up to say a tennis court, you get where I'm going with this. If you persevere you may end up owning your whole mental ward.
