It sure sounds like it. Congratulations on getting your first period!! Make sure you have pads with you. Here are some websites if you have any questions. Best Wishes!!

Probably so.... but if not, don't worry. The normal "start range" is from ages 9-16 so you fall right in the middle.

In preparation, you may want to go ahead and get some supplies (Kotex, Advil, heating pad for discomfort). Since you don't know when you are actually going to start (nobody really does, but since you're 14 I guarantee it's coming soon), you should keep a pad in your purse just in case it's an inopportune time. Congrats, woman!

yes hunny that is exactly what i means... don't be scared... it happens and yes it is going to suck!! lol I don't know one woman who loves having their period. But be prepared you could have cramps and everything else that comes with it. Also since your just starting a fair heads up is that it can be irregular. It may not happen the same time next month it could alter. You could have it easy and then it could be rough. Heating pads do work well with cramps so do midol and pamprin. But like she said welcome to woman hood! So start wearing your femine things and good luck and take it easy your first time. Its the most nerve racking but it should be done within a few days. take care doll

once I have been given my first era it became brown and not crimson. I even have been informed that the brown discharge that ladies individuals get is "outdated" blood. i think of in case you had an infection you would be feeling some discomfort like burning once you urinate. i'm no longer a doctor yet did no longer want you to freak out once you observed the brown discharge.
