Is it a new trend for you Actor to be arrested on drunken driving, just so they can get their names on the news for are they just plan dumb...

Apparently, yes. Will it now be a sort of status symbol? Probably. What I don't understand is, why not hire a driver?

I cannot understand why these young actors think it is GOOD for them to get bad publicity all the time by going out and partying, getting drunk, and driving... of course, if the STUPID photographers would just all STOP following these kids around, there would be less publicity and a less likelihood that these young people would be DOING all this crazy stuff just to see their name and picture in print all the tim.. I also blame a LOT of the American public who go out and scoop up all the RAG MAGS that splash these photos all through their papers.. if the person on the street didn't BUY the papers and magazines that exploited the lives of these not so intelligent young adults, maybe these kids would settle down as well. We are WAY off base chasing after the rich and or famous... you would think that Princess Diana's death would have taught us all SOMETHING...(being hounded by photographers just for pictures and a "story" all the time CERTAINLY played a HUGE PART in her death.).... I don't really feel sorry for these kids---they CHOSE to act like IDIOTS... look at kids like Hayden Panetiere (from Heros) who I've NEVER seen anything bad written about or Scarlet Johansen or Reese Witherspoon who was like 12 when she did her first movie....... Lindsey Lohan is a very talented yet MIXED UP young woman---she has two JERKS for parents--and is TRYING to shake her addictions... There IS hope for her but unless the photographers and news hounds from the TABLOIDS stop hounding her, she will eventually go off the deep end much like Brittny Spears has done.... It's MOSTLY the kids fault themselves (Paris, Nicole, Linsey and Brittny-)--because how come the rest of the actor CHILD set seems to be able to keep their noses clean and negative publicity at bay?...

Oh and when they DO get caught their "punishment" is practically NOTHING... except for the tiny 23 day sentence that ended up being less then THAT for Ms. Hilton...at least LATELY she has been keeping a little lower profile... THANK GOODNESS

I agree with you.
When I read their names I must admit that I sure don't think of them as actors yet. Maybe they've been in a movie or two or on TV but few of them have done anything memorable other than get arrested so maybe they're jealous of their more successful peers.

there just plain dumb, well there are some celebs that aren't getting in trouble, just that you don't hear about them because they aren't getting in trouble. show biz screws you up when you start out as a kid
