Stand straight, keep your chin low, but not too low, kind of like there is a string on the top of your head and you are hanging from it. Shoulders straight. Breathe from your belly, not chest. use the air from your belly to get the high notes. Whatever you do, do not force it. You may have to accept that your voice just does not have that range.

You may not have the vocal range that you're looking for. Everyone has a different vocal range...Mariah Carey has a 7 octave range, Boy George had 1 to 2 at best. Not everyone can sing every song in the same key so if you can't hit the notes, in the short term, you need to transpose the song down or find another way of singing it. You make the most of what you have and if it hurts when you sing something, you're doing it wrong.

If you want to use your head voice and the band is playing really loud, you're going to have to find a better mic balance (you are using a mic aren't you?). A lot of rock singers have loud bands and use their head voices, they just have very good sound men who can get the right balance so the band doesn't drown them out.

For the long term, it is possible to increase your vocal range with vocal exercises but this take time and patience. Start by singing scales at a comfortable range up and then down, then modulate up a key and do the same. Keep going every day or every other day until you've reached the highest note you can without serious straining.

If you continue this, over time, you'll probably find you can sing a little higher than you could before (I expanded my range down this way).

don't try to copy how other people sing....you need to find your own style....find the range you are comfortable with...to work on your range you can do vocal exercises....the more natural your voice is the stronger you can belt it out....

breath in your diaphragm....pull it all out of your abdomen.... and really sing it don't be timid or you will never find you voice
