Most of the time, it seems like whatever was answered first gets selected as best. I'm new to the site and think it is pretty dumb how this happens. Am I wrong?

l had one picked that was 12th, weird, don't know.

Alot of times there is just one answer so if the first person has it right then it would be picked. On opinion questions it is not always the first answer. The person who asked the question is the one who usually deciedes.

The best answer can be selected by the asker and it can also be selected by the voters.Its a matter of opinion and its not always the first answer that gets picked to be best.

That's not necessarily true. My answer is rarely first, but I get a lot of "best answers".

When you have been on here a little longer you will see that is not an accurate statement. (noticed you are level one).
