because of the hemoglobin - molecule found in your red blood cells that carries the oxygen to the rest of your body. It has something called a 'porphyrin ring' in its structure that has iron, which is why blood tastes somewhat like rust/metal/iron. You have gots the iron in the blood...quite literally.

extra tidbit: The plant equivalent to hemoglobin is chlorophyll which has magnesium as the center of its porphyrin ring

I like the people who corrected your spelling...they're wrong too.

"Metal" is a noun (or a verb, but in this case a noun). Your sentence calls for an adjective between "weird" and "taste"

"Metal" in the adjective form is "metallic"...."why does blood have a weird metallic taste"

But yeah, it's the iron

The metal taste is because of the iron in our blood.

Your blood tastes like metal beacuse blood contains iron. Iron is a form of metal so you are correct your blood does taste like metal.

metal baby, not medal. They give medals (made of metal) to soldiers.

Anyway, I think it's because blood has a high iron content (needed to carry oxygen)

Because it contains iron.

On my high horse: The correct word is "metal." A medal is something you win. A metal is something you turn into a medal.
