How do you tell if a guy loves you, but relly knowing it's true?

this guy i started datting says he loves me and i just got out of another realtionship 5 weeks ago, and this is relly going to fast for me but I don't know if he's just saying or does he actually mean it? How do you know there telling the truth when they say they love you?

Its impossible to tell what someone else is feeling.
Since he told you he loved you, you should take his word for it.
Since you was in another relationship prior to this one and was hurt when it ended. Your feelings are very raw.
Remember this guy isn't your ex. Give him a chance to prove it.
