They won't allow the to remain in there forever if possible but this is now a recovery expedition, they should proceed accordingly with all safety concern given to the miners doing the recovery work. No more deaths. (Former W.Va. Miner)

A big part of me, naturally, wants the rescue efforts to continue, because I still have hope that the miners are alive. That's my optimism shining through. I feel for the families of the six miners & I know they are still holding out hope that their loved ones are alive.Three lives were lost trying to reach the six trapped miners, & I truly feel so badly for their families. If I heard correctly, one more site is being drilled & if it doesn't bring them to the miners, all efforts to rescue the miners will be called off & they will be entombed in the mine. I feel so sad but they don't want to put anymore lives in peril, & I can certainly understand that.

I believe that everything has been done to try and get to these men (or their bodies). I think that they should just stay entombed in the mine since trying to retrieve their bodies has already taken 3 more lives. The mine will be closed and never mined again and like I told the hubby, to look at a beautiful mountain and think of your loved one is MUCH better than some pretty piece of granite. I think the families are expecting more than is humanly possible. My heart does go out to them though in their time of grief.

It was 8 months in the Scotia Coal Mine tragedy in Kentucky before the miners bodies were recovered. It has to be done in a safe manner so as not to lose anymore lives.

I very much doubt they are still alive so it would just be a recover. No I don’t think they should continue since it’s clearly not safe to do so they already lost 3 rescuers. How many should die just to recover some bodies? If they could do it safely ok but they can’t.

I think dead miners is more correct.
The remains may be found one day if the mine is reopened and the cave-in is repaired.
In bygone years, many miners were never recovered.
I grew up in coal mine country.

It's too late to "save" them... all the efforts now would be in a body-recovery. And I don't think that's worth risking other people's lives to do ... and the company should not be expected to spend thousands / millions of dollars to extract the bodies... just to give them to the families so that THEY will have to spend thousands of dollars to put them in a wooden box and put them back into the ground.
