There is no reason why your baby should not take naps in the car seat. It is a good position for him. But be careful not to leave him in it for too long as the baby can get flat head syndrome from being on it's back for too long. When the baby is up it is a good time to but him on his stomach, it helps with development.

My son would only sleep in his carseat for the first four months of his life. We tried to have him sleep in a bassinet but nothing was as comfy as the carseat. He is now three years old and developed normally. A flat head can occur on any baby that spends a lot of time lying on his/her back (I'm sure you know babies shouldn't sleep on their stomachs). There isn't anything wrong with your baby sleeping in his carseat. Just make sure the carseat is in a safe location. Good Luck.

Actually the car seat is one of the safest places for your child to sleep.Ask your doctor! My son slept in his car seat all night sometimes. I wouldn't dare wake him to put him in his crib. I would just set the whole infant carrier in the crib. This would prevent it from falling off of something and also the area on the floor is cooler than the rest of the house. Good Luck.

Your baby will be fine! My son would only fall asleep in his carseat until he was 4 months old! I talked to his doctor and she said it was fine. He also had reflux really bad and if he had a bad puking day I would let him sleep in the seat all night so he would be at a incline. If he had a good day I would let him fall asleep in the carseat then move him to the crib. Good luck!

I was always told that its okay for a very short time, but not on a regular basis. Its not just the spine thats effected i dont think, its the fact that they can flop forward and stop themselves breathing too.
I always used a bouncer when my baby was young, then put her in her pram when she was too big for the bouncer.
Hope that helps x

Unless your baby sleeps in his car seat instead of a bed, it wouldn't affect his development. A bed or sofa is much more comfortable than a car seat.

No, it's okay. Just make sure he's not in there all the time! He should have plenty of waking hours, and other sleeping hours too if possible, in different types of positions so that he's working all his muscles and stretching and all that good stuff.

No it won't hurt them. Think about how they were in a very small space for 9 months.

its not good, they can get a flat spot on the back of the head, some kids need to have therapy and special helmets to correct it. Put him in a crib, bassanet ,your lap, ect.
