When you have been drinking, you sleep much more soundly, causing you to sleep through things that would normally wake you up.
There is a condition that the medical community reffers to as Saturday Night Palsy which essentially happens like this.
A person drinks too much
Said person falls asleep with their arm in an awkward position (normal person would just roll off of it in their sleep)
Positioning of arm puts pressure on the brachial plexus nerve (nerve running down your arm)
Following day said person wakes up with no use of that hand because the nerve has been damaged
So when you were sleeping, you were basically passed out drunk. Your brain did not respond to your body telling it that you have to urinate, and the pressure in your bladder exceeded the ability for you to "hold it" with your body in a relaxed state (passed out is pretty relaxed). Once the flow started, it just kept on going.
Don't worry about losing bladder control - as long as you don't drink too much you should be fine.

I'm glad you clarified and included the alcohol aspect. Speaking as a recovering alcoholic, with 10 years sober, I can say that yes, it does happen. If you polish off 10 beers and pass out cold, you will most likely pee the bed. I know I did many times, much to my dismay. If you ain't waking up to do it, your body will take care of it. Try very hard to pee before laying down or passing out.

Alcohol, exhaustion, probably many other things can cause people to urinate in their sleep. If this is happening to you on frequent occasions, you definitely need to see a doctor. I wet the bed back in 2004, while traveling. Crossing time zones, I was jet lagged when I got to my destination. I laid down for a nap at 3:00 p.m., woke up at 12:00 a.m. soaking wet, it can happen. It shouldn't happen often, and if it does, again, please, go and see your doctor.

You must be under stress. You are probably sleeping very hard and dreaming of water for this to happen. It could be a sign of a urinary tract infection. Have your doctor check you out just to be sure. Good luck!

It could be something as simple as a bladder infection or urinary tract infection. If they get bad enough, you can lose control.
If you are peeing alot or if it hurts when you pee, I would definitely consult your doctor.
If it happens again, I would also consult your doctor.

Alcohol can absolutely cause you to wet the bed. Especially if excessive amounts were consumed. I don't think you have much to worry about if alcohol was involved :)

I've never peed in my sleep so that wouldn't be normal for me. I've heard alcohol can contribute to that. I would talk to your doctor and see if there's anything you can do. If you were just drunk I wouldn't worry too much about it and just drink less ;)

Yes drinking too much alcholol will definitly make you pee the bed! Drinking too much can actually make you pee your pants when you are awake.

i would say because of hte alcohol, you had to go pee, and being drunk didnt help the matter, so you dreamed about it and there you went all while you were still asleep!
