Corollary question: How many of you aspiring actors actually want to act, as opposed to being PAID vast amounts of $$?

It ain't an easy life, and the vast majority of you will not make any money at it. There are no shortcuts. You will not be "discovered". You gotta sweat. You gotta get used to humiliation. You gotta get used to the fact that you are only as important as the money you can make for other people. You gotta believe. You gotta tough it out. You gotta know that dreams do not necessarily come true.

I'm an aspiring Movie maker if that helps so my plan will be pretty similiar to yours.

1) Go to university and become a doctor and work a few years at that so I can get some good savings going (and a job I can do if I have a real hard time with directing)

2) THen I'll go to directing colledge (acting colledge for everyone else)

3) Then I'll go to the big producers and pitch my ideas until I get a hit. Thus starting my carreer. An actress would get a n agent and go to a bunch of auditions until she got a hit herself thus starting her carreer.

You should really have a safty net though. Thousands of talented people out there never get a job. It's only a select elite that get it.

I am. I have been acting for about 2 years now. My plan is to go through high school (i'm a freshman) by taking drama and participating mainly in the musicals. I'm also in choir. After school I attend an acting class and i participate in the musicals and tour groups. After high school I plan to go to college and further my education in the performing arts. I am already picking out some really good colleges. and I'll just see what happens. I hope to maybe get an agent sometime around college and work in Branson, Mo. during my summers. which is really cool because the college I like best and want to go to is right outside branson. But I'll just see where it takes me.

Most of the dreamers who write in here wanting to be actors have no idea how to do that and think there is a magical web site that will make them a star or that agents are just sitting around waiting to hear from them. I am. I've been in about 20 local plays in my 13 years of being alive. Plus I'm in about 5 choir programs. My plan is to keep doing what I love to do, act and sing, and work really hard at it. I hope to become the best I can be. Eventually I'll try to do something bigger than local plays. My dream is to be in a Broadway production of Wicked.

MY plan is to simply lay this little nugget on you and get the dickens out of Dodge --- I can't even ACT interested at times when it would do well for me to do so !!!

A super good friend of mine who is VERY well known IN the business -- once said -- if there were more actors who were PERSPIRING as opposed to ASPIRING -- there would be considerably more of them "at work" !! It has been some ten years since he said this --- your question brought it to mind !!

I am an aspiring actress, and there's currently an online contest to get a role in the upcoming Clique Movie. I'm entering that, and hopefully it willl be my big break! :D

I hope to grow up to become an actress. I have been acting since i was eight. For right now my plans are anything that i can get.
