Pumas and mountain lion are the same species of cat native to the Americas, and have a number of different names as well including cougar. Jaguars are native to the Americas as well, however their range is limited to Central and South America, as their habitat is restricted to the Jungle. Leopards are native to Africa and resemble a Jaguar, only that they have a shorter tail. The aren't restricted to the jungle and can be seen roaming the open plains alongside lions (but not with them)

For one thing puma and mountain lion are the same animal. Another familiar name is the cougar. Different names for the same animal.

Now the difference between the puma and the other two cats is the puma is tan all over. It has the same coloring as the lion. As kittens, they are spotted, but they lose their spots when they reach adult size. Pumas are found from North America down to South America.

The difference between a jaguar and a leopard is that they live in two different parts of the world. Jaguars are the largest cat in the New World. They can be found from Mexico to South America. Leopards are found in Africa and Asia. Plus jaguars are stockier and more muscular than the leopards, And if you look closely at the fur on the jaguar you find that the rosettes have spots within them. Leopard coats don't have these. Plus, both cats can come in black form as well. Both cats are sometimes known as black panthers. Even in black form they still retain thier spots.

A puma and mountain lion are the same thing - they're called by different names depending on the region.

A leopard has a heavier build than a jaguar, cannot run as fast, and is able to climb trees very well.

puma and mountain lions are the same.

leopards are more in the plains while jaguars are more in the jungles.

in jaguars spots, there is a dot in the middle, while leopards are just an encased cricle.

also jaguars are alot stockier and shorter. the leopard is leaner and longer

Puma and a Mt Lion are the same thing, they go by many names... also cougar, catamount and panther. There are a few more but those are the most popluar. The name chances kinda based off in the area you live, for example down in FL they go by panther up here mostly cougar. Anyway due to their wide range they can vary in weight it can be as low as 70lbs up to 250lbs.

Jags live in South America, Mexico and have been recorded in the lower US (the trim that runs along Mexic) and are extremely aggressive and strong. They tend to weigh 100 to just over 200lbs but have been recorded over 300lbs. They are by far the apex pred in their region.

Leopards live in Africa and take the cake when it comes to cats (strength, aggressive, etc). Though they are clearly smaller than tigers and lions when you factor in jaws and strenght, pound for pound the leopards win. Anyway, most tend to stick around mid 100s when it comes to weight. Just a few pounds shy of Jags (jags tend to be thicker).

More often than not people will confuse Jags and Leopards but there is really a simple way to tell them apart. Other than the fact they live in different areas of the world their spots give them away. Both have circles for spots but with Jags there is a dot in the middle of the circle, leopards have a hollow spot.
