Amoxicillin is used for treating infections caused by certain bacteria. So unless you know which bacteria is causing your infection, then probably not.

Best to see a doctor and get the right meds for the specific infection.

No it can't, if anything it will just make your yeast infection worse. The worst and ONLY yeast infection Ive ever had was directly caused by antibiotics I got from a dentist.
That was the worst week of my life, I could barely walk and on top of that I couldn't eat because my teeth hurt. My mom gave me one of her yeast infection pills (I dont know what theyre called, and shes diabetic so it got prescribed to her) and it went away pretty quickly after that. She told me that the 1 pill I took costed over 20 bucks, too. So that was a pretty expensive treatment.

You can go to the store and buy some Monistat 7 or whatever they call that stuff. Its a vaginal suppository that releases the medicine over a span of 7 days youll have to insert a new pill / cream. It takes a long time but it will help relieve your pain.

How do you know your infection isn't from yeast? Yeast infections always feel different (from what Im told) different itches or pains everytime. The symptoms of a yeast infection is genital pain, itching, foul odor (fishy smell), pain while urinating and walking.
The womans genital area is very VERY sensitive and has a certain pH balance, and when something comes in contact with it such as a new soap or perhaps getting too sweaty or poor hygiene you tend to get yeast infections.
Keep yourself clean, get some Monistat and eat yogurt. Yogurt promotes good pH balance to your genital area, believe it or not. Also, stay away from "silky" underwear and too-tight clothes. Only wear cotton underwear and at nighttime, don't wear any underwear at all. Just drape a towel underneath you and let your genitals be exposed to the air. Infections thrive in hot moist places (a.k.a your labia) and "airing" it out will help a lot!!

Also, when you go #2, wipe from front to back. I know it sounds weird but it's a good way to prevent yeast infections. Bacteria thrives in human feces and if it comes in contact with your genital area it could lead to a bad yeast infection.

Bottom line is, infections are caused by bacteria. Keeping yourself clean is probably the best thing you could do. When you wash yourself make sure that you rinse all the soap away and afterwards dry off very very good.

When I had my yeast infection, I hopped in the tub and rinsed off my genitals after every time I went to pee and that also relieved my pain from the ammonia in the urine on the sores. I know it sounds gross but that's just what happens! Like I said, my yeast infection only lasted 1 week but for some people they have yeast infections for months at a time (usually because of diabetes) Just be glad you're not one of them lol

Did your doctor prescribe it for the infection, or was it left over? ASK YOUR DOCTOR.
