It has to go through the court system.
If he jsut 'stops' paying, it will create a mess that you won't believe. Contact the child support office, they sould be able to help you.

Be smart - don't petition for the child support to stop. If he still gives it to you then it can go what it is intended for - support of the children. (Maybe you write a check out of the funds to help pay the rent)
But if things go bust again you won't have to go back to court again and it it reinstated.

Isn't your baby'f father and the father who is paying child support the same person?
So why would he quit supporting his child because of where he lives.???? Makes no sense.

There is only one situation that can stop the child support garnishments....take it back to court. You can reduce/eliminate what he pays to you as long as you are not and have not received state aid during your pregnancy and/or birth. If you did receive aid, he would have to continue to pay until the state gets paid back.

He can have it stopped or you can just willingly not take it from anymore and say...it goes toward the rent...and if for some reason it doesn't work out then it can be reinstated but you have to trust your man to do that outside of court. If you don't...then go back to court and get it in writting.

In less you are married then the payments will keep going. It does not matter if you live together or not. The only time they change is it you ask for it to after you get married.

I doubt it. You're not married. Ask a lawyer just to be on the safe side. I'm not sure of your state laws.

he needs to file to close the case. you go with him to testify to the fact that you are together now. make sure you receive a letter stating the case is closed.
