First of all if anyone tells you to use a binder for each subject! Forget that advice, i have been through it, it's torture expecially when you are going 100 miles an hour trying to get to class. Better idea have two 3" binders, 1 for before lunch and the other for after lunch. Next get seperators! Seperate every subject and then break that down into different sections as well. Such as daily work, quizes, tests, etc. You can also stay organized with an agenda lists all homework and class work for each day and for each class. Lastly, get a seperate binder for your homework and then just put all the homework in that folder. Oh you could also use folders in binders and put stuff in there as well. such as homework or extra paper. something like that. I did this and it worked so that's my plan for future. Hope this helps.

Have an everything notebook, agenda, etc where you write down everything you have to do. Begin early, early on any projects that are assigned.
Have your parents go now and buy 5 pieces of poster board and 2 sets of 3X5--one ruled and one not ruled. It's never a convenient time to go and get just one of these and takes way too much gas for such a little thing. You can make a fortune, selling the leftover ones at the last minute to kids who aren't as organized/

get a day planner. write down when your tests are, also write down all homework each day, also every paper or project as soon as the assignment is given. After you complete an assignment, cross it off or check it off. this will show you how much you've completed, and you should feel good about your accomplishments! Color coded notebooks and folders are good too. Good luck, I'm sure you will do well.....

different colored notebooks for each class or subject.
Also, one pocket notebook that you can list all of your assignments. I know you can put them on a computer, but sometimes you may not have a computer near you.
It is better to have a short pencil, than a long memory.
So write stuff down and keep tract of it.
good luck.

Prioritize time and resources. Know what is most important and do that first. Budget your time just as you would your money. It is just as precious, more so because you can always get more money, but a moment that has passed is gone forever.
