I just found out over the phone that the love of my life could be pregnant and would be really greatful to have a child with her.
I have been with her since December and never really had any problems with her.
But, the problem like i said is not her but her FAMILY..yes FAMILY! They have never liked me and most of the time conceited and rude.
They LOVE her X-HUSBAND very much tot he point of non-stop comparison but, the problem is I have a way better job, make more money, and IVY league educated.
Now, her mother and sister called me up and started telling me that I am incompetent to become a father. That I have no right having a child. Well, they went on and on with name calling while I kept myself quiet like I always did.
Finally, after all the stress and pressure that I received today. I called both of them "COWS" to go catch a train...head on! Then hung up the phone!
1.) Did I do the right thing after months of silence?
2.) am I going to be introuble with my gf?

Well first off you did the right thing by saying something, but in my opinion you could have been a little more delicate with the situation. I know they call you evil things which they have no right doing, but calling them cows will only add more fuel to there fire. If I were in your postion (though you may not want to) I would call them and apologize and say "I did not have the right to call you what you did, but I don't appreciate how you are treating me." Also explain to them that you want to patch up your differences. That and no matter what you are going to have a child with their daughter/sister and you don't want your guys' child to be born into a family that holds resentment and hate for one another.
As far as being in trouble with you gf you might be. It depends on how you explain the situation to her, what you do about the problem, and to be honest her hormones. Just explain to her that you didn't mean to call them that, but you couldn't take their abuse anymore. Tell her that your sorry about calling them that, but not about how you feel. Plus you should never be sorry on how you feel. be up front with her. She should understand! I hope this helps! And Congratulations!

I'd love to see the shocked look on their faces......good for you, high five and all that, but make like sorry when you go to you girl! The "cows" shouldn't be butting their noses in where it don't belong anyways. If you are treating your girl well and aren't giving the "family" room to talk I say keep up the good work telling the family where you stand. Pretty soon, you'll actually be able to tell them off and make sense about it!

no you did not do the right thing by loosing your cool and saying something to them.
will you have trouble with your girlfriend? well that depends on if she knows and understands how badly her family treats you and if that bothers her. the only one who can insist that you be treated better is your girlfriend . she is the only chance you have of having better treatment and is she willing to stand up for you or does she act like a doormat herself with her family.

You need to talk to her, the only one who knows if you'll get in "trouble" with her, as you put it, is her. As for the right thing, there are probably a million other tactful things to say... but sometimes they don't hit home! I would say about time you stood up for yourself.

Ivy league education, more money does not necessarily mean better man. So take your conceited *** and 50 cents , see what that'll get you. Congradulations on the child however. By the way greatful correctly spelled is grateful, maybe you paid to much for your education.

1. You should have stood up for yourself a long time ago.
2. Who cares. You live your life for yourself not for her. She is your partner in this not your master.

1) yes
2) yes
But...2 more things.
1) I hope the gf understands, you can only accept so much verbal abuse before you have to fight back
2) Felt good didn't it?
