why do people cheat?

There's no 1 answer and no simple answer to that question. Here are SOME answers:

1. They don't care how their actions effect others.
2. Their bored and suffer from number 1.
3. They allow themselves to get into situations were things could get dicey in the first place. (time alone with the opposite sex in places where something can happen. can we say, DUH!)
4. They do it to make themselves feel better about themselves (wanted/loved)
5. They do it because they are angry or dislike their spouses, but don't really want to leave them.
6. They do it because they can't with their spouses, and think they have to at least do it with someone.
7. They are niave, and fall for stupid plays by "playas."
8. Their afraid they aren't "all that" anymore, and need to prove it by conquests.
9. Their addicted to "new person" sex, and can't handle/don't like "familiar person" sex.
10. They believe their spouses are cheating on them. (spouses may or may not be cheating, still the same reason.)
11. They weren't really ready to settle down yet when they hooked up with the person they are with, and are still unsure the person they are with is who they want to be with. (Seems to be to difficult to confess this to the person your with BEFORE cheating on them.)

Oh yea, I forgot the one where they try to find a new partner while still keeping the old one.... don't have to be alone while your out "dating".... Love that one. It's the bomb.

Several reasons.
Excitement. Opportunity. The "I'll never get caught". This is my personal favorite one "My marriage sucks and my spouse treats me like crap, but I can't afford to leave."

All of the above come back to one thing - lack of communication. How does one tell another they want to end a relationship?? Breaking up is hard to do, while most don't want to break up anyway, they just want a feeling or to fill a need they are not getting. Once that need is filled, it creates a lie, which leads to another one and so on. Cheating is more common than what people think as well.

If you really want more insight, eMail me. I will be glad to share my story with anyone. Maybe what I have to say will offer someone that split second decision to make a change.
