I'm 27 years old and have had this lump and pain in my left breast for about 3 weeks now. The lump is large and very hard. It's not under my arm so I assume that rules out a swollen lymphnode. I did some research online regarding breast cancer lumps and everything I have read says normally there is no pain with the lump. My mother has had 3 cyst in her breast. Not sure if that is hereditary. Anyways I know a lot of you will say to see a doc. and get the exam but I just signed up for insurance and it doesn't kick in for another 2 weeks. I am just curious if any of you might have an idea as to what this is. Maybe calm my nerves before going in...or not.

Usually cancerous lumps in the breast, are hard and kernel like. It is best to see a doctor who can get you in for a mammogram. Best of health to you!

Sorry I can't calm you. Cysts usually, if ever, hurt. Make an appointment today so that you can be at the doctor's office the day your insurance "kicks in." It doesn't necessarily mean you have cancer, it could be a benign tumor. I can't send you prayers, but all my good wishes are with you.

Okay so doctor, yeah? I had this happen to me once, it was an infection of my milk ducts. I was 15, never been pregnant, wtf? But thats what it was. ALSO my mother was diagnosed this year with ductal carcinoma, a breast cancer of the milk ducts. Hurt very bad. Hopefully its just an infection, But go to the doctor..... I know, you knew that.

not trying to scare you, go to a doctor and let them determine what it is.
