Hi. Check your sound settings in "Start> All Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume control>".

did you mute or turn off the sound for any program / webpage that required sound? if not:

there's a few things to check your sound out -

- check to see if the power button is on (on the speakers if it has a button for that)
- check to make sure your volume is turned up on the speakers itself, also in a program you are trying to use - such as Windows Media Player (slide the volume to the right); instant messenger voice chat volume; a browser window that requires sound (check to see if you muted a webpage);

- check to make sure all the wires are properly connected and are not frayed or damaged

- right click on your speaker icon on the lower right corner of your monitor down by the clock/time - click on properties to open your master sound properties and check to see if you have the sound "muted" (there will be a check mark in the box) if there is a check mark - uncheck it then check to see if your speakers are working - also check to see if the volume slider is down - if it is slide it up (to turn the volume up)

- right click on my computer - click properties - click hardware tab - then go into the device manager - in there scroll down til you see - sound, video and game controllers - click on the plus sign next to that to open the list - right click on audio drivers and update it (also check to see if there is a yellow exclamation mark next to your sound/audio - this lets you know there is a problem with this item) - to update the driver - right click on the audio driver - then click update driver (or you can click scan for hardware changes - if you think or know any hardware item(s) were changed)
(or you can do both - scan for hardware changes ... then scan to update driver)

- (also while you're in this section you might want to update your network drivers as well if you haven't done that previously or in a while)

Check if its plugged in correctly.
To the computer and to the electric outlet. Then if this fails restart your pc.
THis happened to me last week and I restarted my pc and it fixed the problem. Tara!
