Boston. By far. No smog, no Californians, and food that does not involve soy or mango puree.

I never lived in Boston although im planing to for college.. I lived in LA for about 2 months thats not much but i have an idea about LA. LA is a summer california life where you go to beaches all the time surf and all tjhat.... in boston theres a city life like newyork but its less-in-your-face than ny. so it about you... boston is quiet but LA is noisy although if u want peace you can find it.

They're so different, its hard to compare. Boston can be cold, and LA warm. LA seems more of a city for Hollywood, actresses, glitz and glam, while Boston is more of an academic place with my historical sites....I like Boston alot, but I've never been to LA....

Boston by far. It is more compact, one does not need a car. Plus, except for the more impressive mountains and the deserts in CA there is much more variety to do and see within 250 miles, many more interesting and vibrant cities of unique identities in their own right.

Boston wins in my books ! I've been to both a few times and I prefer Boston over LA anyday.

I have never lived in either city, but I have visited (work and play) both cities numerous times. They are a bit incomparable. One has nicer weather year 'round. One has loads of young, enthusiastic college students. One is very old (think American Revolution). One is relatively new (think immigrants.) One on the Atlantic...one on the Pacific. etc. etc. Actually, there is no answer. It's sort of like a choice between butter pecan and rocky road...all a matter of preference/taste. Either would be O.K. Me, I prefer Boston.

If you want a young crowd, Boston is a better place to be. Nothing beats going to college in Boston.

Boston is a great sports town too, and you can walk anywhere.

Boston.
None of that gross smog.
And we have hot summers, they have 70 degree summers!!
We get winter too where we can ski and snowboard,
and fall and spring are beautiful!
Boston has so much going on.
Who cares about all the celebrities? See them on TV!
And it's not like you can't go to the beach in Boston!!
(Just not all year round of course...but snowboard instead of surfing in the winter!)

Come on, is that really a question... the obvious answer is Boston. I mean come on, we have the Boston Red Sox AND we don't have earth quakes.

Depends. If you like rude people, bad drivers, high taxes, insane rent than Boston is the place to be.

If you like smog, snobby bimbo's, horrible public transportation, Then LA is the place to be

Boston is the best! Not as polluted, and smaller. The best walking city.
