The thermostat reading for room temperatures goes up when ac is running in cool mode. But when it is switched off manualy then after some time the thermostat reads right temperature. Whe I try to switch to FAN only mode, I hear a click but the ac fan never turns ON. Can I do some check/repair or do I have a bad thermostat. Please help.

Sounds like maybe a bad thermostat and/or possibly a bad motor in your fan. It is easy and inexpensive to replace a thermostat and that is where I would start. If it solves it great. If not depending on your knowledge, you may want to call a service tech. also could be wiring to fan motor damaged.

Did you just install this thermostat? or is this a new problem just arised? If you just installed it check your wiring as you may be making a call for heat instead of a call for cooling. If this just started happening call your ac company as you have other issues.

if the temperature indicator rises, there something wrong with the thermostat, it is not conected to any thing, unless theres a wire touching the expansion coil, look inside for a loose wire,
