This could also go into the most embarrasing moment of all time... (but funny enough to laugh at myself for it now)
I was a bridesmaid in a good friend's wedding and wore a very snug fitting strapless gown. Everytime I tried it on (at the shop, for fittings, at home, etc.) it wore well without the use of a strapless bra, so the day of the wedding i decided to not bother with one...big mistake!
Anyway, I'm sure you can guess where the duct tape came in. It actually worked perfectly! Better lift than any bra I've ever found.
At the time I had this brilliant idea, I didn't have enough foresight to imagine what would happen when it was time to remove the "wisconsin chrome"...ouch. (I did line under it with some paper towels from the bathroom, so it didn't start out on my skin...but didn't end up that way several hours later)
And yes, i think it was VERY redneck...but an awfully funny story now!

Lit me think for a minute here, it was two or three months ago, which is a long time for me to go without using duct tape. Duct tape of one of the four major repair materials. There are pop rivets, black, electrical tape, bailing wire and duct tape that can be used to fix just about anything, but only one can be used on any one project. Many people will only use one of these four repair materials, meaning there are duct tape people , there are pop rivet people, there are, well you get the idea. There are a few of us who will use any of them, but only one on any one project. I think I last used Duct tape to hold a one gallon pot together where it had split. Yep, that was it.

I have an ol' pair of shoes that I wear when I'm workin' around the place. Sometimes I even wear them when I go to the lumber yard, feed store, or for grocories and such. Now the other day the bottom of the right one came plumb off while I was a weed eatin'. So not wantin' to ruin another pair of shoes, I just wrapped duct tape around them both and kept right on a goin'. I did both so they would match for when I'm out in public. Good thing I did too because I noticed a lot of people just a staren at them shoes at the local Wal Mart the other weekend. Should of known to go to Dollar General or Family Dollar when I'm in my workin' cloths cause I don't like dressen up to go to Wal Mart!

I have actually used duct tape on a duct - to cover a leaking connection!
But the last time I used some it was to bundle some newspaper because I couldn't find the G-D twine.

I don't think it is really a redneck product. It's simple so most people attribute it to a redneck sensibility. But I find it handy; can be used on everything and anything which requires a durable tape. I've even used it in first-aid applications; it's great for constructing splints or applying even pressure to deep cuts. I always carry a roll when out fishing or backpacking for just such emergencies.

Whether duct tape is "redneck" would entirely depend on what you do with it. If it's holding your house together, YES, totally redneck! lol.
