The last team to not make the playoffs despite three 15-game winners was the 2005 Indians.

Cliff Lee won 18, with Jake Westbrook and Sabathia both winning 15 games. The Indians, however, finished second to the Twins and lost out in the wildcard race.

There have been a lot. The 2005 Cardinals had 3 and 2 more that narrowly missed. Most teams that win around 100 games would have at least that many.

NY Yankees -- Wang 19, Johnson 17, Mussina 15.

The 1920 Chicago White Sox had four pitchers who each won 21 or more.

In 1971, the Baltimore Orioles had FOUR pitchers with 20 or more wins: Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar, Dave McNally and Pat Dobson. And they still lost the World Series to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The A's in 2002 did also with Zito, Mulder, & Hudson.

More likely than not, the 2007 Boston Red Sox will wear that crown. I can hear them gagging already. . . .
