From Assembers of PCs who also accepts the old PCs or who deals in used computer parts. They offer such type of parts at 1/4th of the price. An old 256MB RAM wil cost you in between Rs.250-300 only.

DDR RAM prices has actually escalated, as the prices to manufacture them is more and the manufacters are trying to switch to DDR2.
DDR2 are really cheap, faster, and better in every way. If you are lucky, your PC may be compatible with DDR2 RAM.
