You hear a lot about it because it's *interesting* so people like to talk about it. It's so dirrrty and scandalous! I don't think it's quite as common as people think it is. Here are the actual stats:
22 percent of married men have strayed at least once during their married lives.
14 percent of married women have had affairs at least once during their married lives.
That doesn't sound so bad, does it?

There can be no real count, because most infidelity is not reported anywhere.
Just like all the committed marriages that there are with no infidelities are not counted either. There are a lot more of them then you imagine, people that stay together until death parts them.
Commitment is up to the individuals and statistics don't have any influence on that.

At least 50% of marriages will have one of the partners cheat. I didn't realize this until I started talking to other married men and women. It is usually when the spouse feels unloved or not needed. Don't be afraid to enter marriage because of statistics; learn from mistakes others have made.

Maybe I live in a dream world, but I believe most married people are faithful to their spouses. Some are just selfish, by thinking the grass is greener on the other side.

About 25 percent of the married men and 70 percent of the married women. The 30 percent of the men that do, do it as many total times at the 70 percent of the women.
Basically a few men do it a lot. Most women do it once in a while.

well,I understand what your saying but truth is every person is committing adultery...if there not doing it physical then there doing it emotional...we all cheat in our own little ways..I guess it's a part of our human nature..but above all we must be in control of it to prevent the chaos that comes with cheating
