The difference is Emotional Maturity. You can have girls and boys that act like women and men because they are Emotionally Mature and therefore their decision making is on the level of maturity. You can also have women and men that act like immature girls and boys and sometimes even throw temperature tantrums like toddlers do. An adult, male or female, is a person that can handle life and make the proper decisions in a sensible manner without losing it emotionally in the process.

There are both biological and psychological changes that occur in order for the transition between boy and girl to man and woman, respectively. Physically, it is puberty that signals the change from child to adult, primarily the ability to reproduce. However, it is the psychological changes that are most important in modern society.

Many cultures had tasks that would have to be completed for the child to "come of age" and be considered an adult. Sadly, in America these tasks have turned into parties and the ability to vote. So instead of relying on a specific age or bodily changes that we have no control over, the real change from child to adult comes when the person (male or female) realizes that they have consequences and responsibilities and begins to behave in a way that positively reflects this knowledge.

Girl brings a sense of immaturity and naiveté. Some guys may feel insecure about calling a woman a "woman" because it could place the woman higher than the men, and given how egotistical and narcissistic most men are nowadays, that doesn't bode well with them. So they'll just say "she's a nice girl" or something like that.

Yes, chest size is also affiliated with the difference as well.

A boy is a mere child whereas a man has experienced more and is more 'endowed' shall we say.

I think between them both is responsibility and maturity. you can be 40 and still act like a boy. But yet a 17 year old can be a man. It all depends on their character.

Generally, it's when someone hits puberty that physically they become an adult.

However, I know several "adults" that are not what I would call a man or a woman! They'll just never grow up!

Age and maturity in behavior.

And like Derek here...all 15-year-olds think they are so grown... give it a decade and look back on it from 25, you'll see what a little boy and how immature you really were still, I guarantee you will see that.

It all depends on what specifically you mean. Mentally or physically the difference?? Technically a girl becomes a woman when she gets her first menstrual cycle. A boy becomes a man when his voice changes.

Boobs and girls tend to live in a fantasy land until the age of 24-30.

For boys, mostly sex and penis size. Oh, and hair.
