So here's the deal everyone. I was given a ticket for "drinking in public." I went to court (NJ), plead guilty, paid the $ 200 fine. Does that create a criminal record for me ? I've no prior history of anything criminal. Also I was 21 at the time (legal but not in public). I was not arrested, or fingerprinted or anything. Thanks in advance....

It is a misdemeanor. It will only show up if they search for misdemeanors (most don't and will tell you if they do)

This will not create a criminal record for you. All you did was violate a town ordinance and was issued a summons to appear.

Pleading guilty and paying the fine is accepting responsibility for your actions, and it will show up on your record.
