Hey! Even bimbo's have feelings, ya know! ;)
Seriously, though, you didn't say how long ago this "abandonment" happened, which could make a HUGE difference in how this will be handled.
Regardless, the US Fed Gov't does not supply lawyers for such reasons, if at all, and you definitely need a lawyer (from a purely layman's point-of-view with what little info you give, since you were, presumably, the "victim", you are, most likely, going to get the divorce court to see things your way, and your husband will pay all the lawyer's fees; of course, if he can show that you drove him to it, and that you had been separated for over a year or so and/or that he tried to reconcile with you, such that he is the "victim", then the shoe is on the other foot!).
Even if the Fed did provide legal benefits, you, presumably, did not pay into your eventually-to-be-ex-husband's benefits, so you would not be entitled to such, even if he named you as a beneficiary.
Try contacting local women's groups and/or marriage support centers and/or whatever religious group you belong to.
There are also a few "legal insurance" options that are relatively inexpensive (I never used them, but a couple of my friends have used them for years without trouble; enter "legal insurance" (without the quotes) into your favorite web search engine).
For the link, below, read everything that's relevant to you, then click on "Find a Lawyer", which has a nifty question and answer form (the site assumes that you live in the US).
