Possibly because they are trying to walk too fast in styles of shoes not designed for walking quickly in! Which probably means they are trying to keep up with their boyfriend!
When wearing heels, slip on sandals, flip flops etc there is an optimum speed, any faster an you risk coming a cropper!
Don't try and keep up, make them slow down to your speed! Much more comfortable anyway.

I have lost a shoe because my heel got stuck in a crack in the pavement. I have lost a shoe because someone behind me stood on my heel. I have lost a shoe because I was walking too fast. I have lost a shoe because it was too big. Can't think of any other reason though

Sounds like they misjudged the size of their feet. The only time I ever walked out of a pair of shoes was when I was little and trying on my mother's shoes!

You either buy them a little too big or you buy the right size and as your feet warm inside the shoe loosens slightlyand thats why shoes slip off

Because even if the shoes fit when you buy them they get a bit loose. And if they dont have laces etc to hold them on then they just wriggle off. My white ones always do, but I never fall out of my trainers.

I think it's because they are the kinds of shoes that don't really hold on to your foot well enough. The slip on kind. If walking fastly it's possible to leave them behind.

I fall out of mine ALL the time, but only walking down a very steep hill.

They're sandals though, and gravity sort of squishes my toes down and out the bottom of them (toe end) meaning there's a gap at the back, and I step out of them.

On flat ground, I have no clue x

That happened to me once when I was in the statue of liberty. The shoes I was wearing were too small but they were sooo cute.

summer shoes/sandals dont usually have a strap in back, holding onto ur heel.they just have one strap across the middle of ur foot,or thru the toe.go for a walk in flip-flops,and u will see what i mean.
