Gandhi was a citizen of India who was instrumental in the freedom struggle under the british invaded India. He was iconic as he protested against the british rule in India through peace and non-violence and was successful to a great extent! He is credited for influencing millions of people against the british rule and in getting India the freedom through non-violence.
Helen Keller was a great scholar who was deaf, mute and blind right from her childhood even before she learnt a language. Now, how did she learn a language and go on to become a great scholar and a thinker if she could never see, and never hear? She had a nurse (a nanny) who taught her a language inspite of her handicap when everybody else gaveup hope for her! You should get this movie called "the miracle worker" its based on Helen keller and how she is taught a language by her nurse! its a simple but an incredible movie! you should also watch Richard Attenborough's film "Gandhi" (starring Ben Kingsley) to know about Gandhi and his life. It's an incredible film. There are many films made on Gandhi, but you need to watch the one made by Richard Attenborough.
edit :
their teachings! Gandhi taught and showed that the greatest strength was truth, love, non-violence and peace. His greatest teaching was tolerance towards violence. He believed in equality and justice for all.
Helen keller...what can I say...her life and her works speak for themselves! (she wrote a lot of incredible stuff!).
An incredible mind, who inspite of being blind could see life more intensely than most people who walked on this planet! and who inspite of being mute expressed so much meanings through her works, she is an inspiration to all and not just for the disabled.

Gandhi was an Indian who believed that pacifism, rather than militaristic methods, was best to make a stance against oppression. His most important goal was to inspire others to take a peaceful stance against the British empire who had invaded India. It's really important to know what was going on at the time, so I encourage you to at least do a wikipedia search on him to get more details. Gandhi helped India gain their independence from the British in 1947.
Helen Keller was a young girl who was deaf, blind and mute. She is important because she's an example of how anyone can overcome obstacles in life. I don't know a whole lot about her specific accomplishments so I recommend looking on wikipedia for that also.
Good luck.

If you don't know the answers to these questions, you really need to start reading or taking classes. Most elementary students can tell you about Helen Keller, and the smarter ones, even know about Gandhi. If you can't read, or don't like to, there are plenty of movies about both. There are audio books also. Check out you local library.

Too deep of a question to sum up here. I would recommend gettting the movie "Ghandi" starring Ben Kingsly and the other re: Helen Keller called "The Miracle Worker", starring Patty Duke. They'll both give you a good flavour of who they were... and great movies too.

Ghandi was a pacifist and taught the principle of passive resistance, ie breaking a law that you think is wrong then taking the punishment without putting up a fight, as a way of letting people know about problems with the government.
Helen Keller wasn't really a teacher, she is more of an inspiration. She was a blind and deaf girl who eventually learned how to communicate.

only know of Helen; she was a heroine to many ,first
in the western world and later around-the-world,because
she overcame tremendous odds via her inability to see and
hear anything; with her equally impressive teacher called
Anne macy Sullivan, she learned a language and was able to
use that in her life; and a life where, she actually went to
britain to study and complete her university course!
And there are photos of her and Anne, together with the
likes of such famous men as Alexander Graham Bell(the
founder of the telephone).

i think of it relies upon on what you have faith. i think of that in case you do no longer have faith in hell, it does not exist for you. high-quality and dandy, yet neither does heaven. all of it comes all the way down to faith, huh? i could in my opinion prefer to have faith that those which you have reported gets some eternal reward for the forged they have completed whilst alive. no person is all reliable or all undesirable, and in case you lead a "reliable" existence and greater valuable those around you, shouldn't you be rewarded? great question.
