I really like the name Evan for a boy.
Recently I thought, why not for a girl? Though maybe spell it Evyn? But something about the 'vy' doesn't look right. I really like the name though. My boyfriend says just call it Evelyn, but that reminds me of a grandma.

evan is good for a boy's name..but i don't think your daughter would like the name evan when she got older..i agree with your boyfriend..eve...or evelyn sounds really pretty..and one of my good friends is named evelyn and i just call her evy usually. but your the mommie you know whats best! good luck

well, before reading the rest of your question, and just seeing the two names together, I first thought that Evan is cute name, for a boy, but the Evyn looks girly. (I thought u wanted to spell the boy as Evyn)- I think evyn is adorable, and pretty at the same time.
But, I also just noticed I really like Evy. Like Edee or something.
Just note, Evan or Evyn sounds like Heaven. ITs beautiful.

Evan for a boy is nice. I don't really like Evyn for a girl - sorry! It just sounds made up and weird. :) Evelyn is better.

If you are going to go with Evan use the traditional spelling. It will save you lots of hassles down the road. I agree with the boyfriend. I like Evan for a boy and Evelyn for a girl. It is kind of old fashioned, but it is very pretty and names kind of go in a cycle anyway. I think a lot of the old fashioned names seem to be coming back into fashion again.

I love the name Evan for a boy. I would skip the "evyn" it looks a bit weird. I had a friend who spelled his name Evon, which was nice. Evelyn is a lovely name!

Evelyn could be for a young girl....it actually MAKES it sound hipper, and u soon would not remember thinking of it just for a grandma cuz u would associate it with ur little girl. plus, her nickname could be Eve.

I like Evan for a boy, but would probably go with something like Evie for a girl. (Eeeeeevie lol) Just my thoughts though. The vy looks odd to me too, but you never know...it could make for an awesome signature when she is older ;-) Congratulations!!

Evan is cute on a girl, maybe a nickname for Evangeline?
Actress Evan Rachel Wood is a girl named Evan, it's not unheared of. I quite like it on a girl. Maybe something like Evan Lily or something like that so there is no confusion.
