All walmart, target, and best buy seem to have are VCR/DVD combos! I don't have the money to buy one one those right now! Is there anywhere that sells just a VCR?
Who would have thought that in 2007 I would be wanting a VCR!

I know that to combos start at $50... but as a college student... well, I just don't have $50!

Try a pawn shop. They should have one pretty cheap.

With VCR/DVD players starting at under $60 it is no longer economical to make single purpose VCRs. I found sever in the $60 - 80 range listed at WalMart, Target and Radio Shack.

Try a Pawn Shop. Bring a tape and have them test the VCR to see if it works.

It's summer time so there are a lot of yard sales and flea markets. I just sold three old VCRs for $5 or less each and they all worked. Also you may want to look at the thrift stores in your area. Hope I helped.
