Right now authorities are saying it's going to be 12-18 months in prison, but some experts believe it could become 21-28 months. On top of his prison sentence, Vick should get at least a years suspension from the league, that will have to be served after his jail sentence. So, we probably won't see Michael Vick in an NFL uniform again until around 2009 or 2010.

Probably not what he deserves, on the federal indictment. But if the VA prosecutor actually goes through with what he has said he plans to do, try Vicks, Phillips, and Peace on animal cruelty charges, he might get closer to what he deserves. There is a possible sentence for 5 years for each abuse. 5 years X 8 dogs Vick and others admitted to hanging and drowning = 40 yrs each or 13.3 years if they divide it up between all three defendents.
Edit: He has agreed to turn others in who are operating dogfighting rings, in return for a reduced sentence--Then he will still have to face the VA charges--- I think this is a win-win situation--Other dogfighters going down, and then VA can put Vick in jail--sounds good to me

The time he gets may be immaterial. After he serves whatever sentence he gets, he gets a hearing with the NFL who decides what their penalty is going to be. A possiblility exists that he may have played his last NFL game. We won't know for a while.

I say no more than 6 months. They say 12 to 16 months but with good behavior and his high profile I could not see more than 6.

Unfortunately, he won't get anywhere near the max for the crime. The bigger your celebrity, the lighter the punishment. If it had been Joe or Jane Average that had done this, they would have gotten the maximum penalty.

Probably none. That seems to be the trend when sentencing celebrities. I think they should electrocute him or maybe stick him in a cage and have him fight. But probably he will get a couple of days.

Hopefully a really long time! He deserves what he gets and some. Animal cruelty has gotten out of hand lately and I am so sick and tired of celebritites getting a break on everything! Its time to set examples!!!!
