I am in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend. We see each other once every 2-3 months. What form of birth control would you recommend besides condoms?

If you two are exclusive, you could try the ring. You insert it once a month and just leave it there for 3 weeks. If you insert it on the first day of your period, you're protected right away, so you could just use one during the months you see him, if you can plan ahead like that. And like the pill, you can use it to control your periods, so you can be sure you won't have Aunt Flo and your bf around at the same time.

It's easier than the pill, because you don't have to remember to do anything, and the hormone dosage is lower. I've had lots fewer side effects than I did when I was on the pill.

Your gynecologist is honestly the suited guy or woman to advise maximum appropriate for you, by way of fact he/she is often used with you and your scientific history. One option to contemplate could be an intra-uterine gadget (IUD). An IUD is a small T-formed gadget that's inserted interior the uterus interior the direction of the vagina. There are 2 types: one containing copper and yet another containing the hormone progestin (that's between the hormones interior the beginning administration pill). it is not likely that the two style will impact your temper on the grounds which you haven't any important quantity of hormone circulating on your blood; the IUDs act interior the uterus basically. The copper IUD is greater low priced, besides the shown fact that it regularly makes women human beings have heavier classes. The hormonal IUD is greater costly and regularly provides women human beings lighter classes. The IUD remains interior the uterus and can provide birth control for 3-5 years. in case you come again to a determination you prefer to become pregnant until now, in basic terms pass on your gynecologist to have the IUD bumped off.

It all depends on the person. The pill is 99% eeffective if you use it correctly but there are other lesser efficient things like the sponge or diaphragm or even spermicide. If you use a spermicide with one of the other 2 methods it makes it even more effective.

If he is your exclusive partner, the pill. If you think he might be having sex with other women, stick with condoms.
