I am currently 40 wks and 6 days pregnant...at 37 wks 5 days the baby weighed 8lbs 10 oz on the ultrasound. At 40 wks 2 days the doctor scheduled me to be induced due to the size of the baby and this being my first. C sections also run in the family. None of the women in my family dilate like they should. Ive been at 1 cm for three weeks. I went in to get induced on that day and i had strong contractions for 12 hours. She came in and checked me and i still had no change and didnt dilate still!! She sent me home and scheduled another induction!!! I believe she should have done the c section. Any medical opinions or just opinions? By the time the baby comes shell be fully grown!!

i did say something to her at the time she said she didnt want to rush things into a c section but if she didnt feel it was time...why did she schedule an induction??

Well im not a doctor but ive had 2 kids and about to have my third and you are already overdue and the baby is probably to big to have a vaginal birth. I think she should have done the c-section then. Some doctors however will wait up to 42 weeks to see if you will go into labor. I would say something to her next time.

I think she's wrong too. At 40 weeks if you induce, and nothing happens, I think you should've have a C-section. Contractions are hard on the baby too, and the placenta is slowly dying. When are you due back?

If you had any questions you should have asked your doctor when you were there... you should speak up... if you thought you should have gotten a section at that time, dont you think you should have said something, or anything? I mean... hello!
